Student Leadership at Esquimalt High School is a credit course that provides opportunities and support for students to explore their own leadership potential and learn leadership through active involvement in the school and broader community.
Active involvement in one’s community is a natural extension of classroom education. The concepts of interdependence and community offer limitless opportunities to extend student learning beyond the objectives of a particular project, course, or program. With community as the broader subject matter, students are encouraged to think critically, take action, and learn the value of becoming active and responsible citizens.
A few examples of past projects include:
School Events: Movie nights, dances, fundraisers, food drives, Santa’s Breakfast.
Community Events: Benefit concerts, Victoria Highland Games, Esquimalt Firefighters Burn Fund, and Ribfest.
Personal Development: camping, surfing and skiing trips.
