Esquimalt Students Caring About Peace & the Environment (E.S.C.A.P.E.)

Founded by students in the late 1980s ESCAPE is Esquimalt High School’s original environmental and human rights club. ESCAPE’s work has been recognized nationally and made a difference locally, regionally and around the world.

Women for Change in Zambia

The Sierra Club’s High School Sustainability Assessment Framework
An ongoing assessment of Esquimalt High School using the High School Sustainability Assessment Framework that members of ESCAPE developed with the Sierra Club and modeled on the Campus Sustainability Assessment Framework used by universities and colleges across Canada.
Amnesty International’s Write for Rights Campaign
Sending thousands of letters drawing attention to human rights concerns in Canada and around the world in support of Amnesty International’s Write for Rights event held annually.
